Bayswater Community Connects With Nature at Local Wetlands Discovery Day
It was great to see so many community members come together at Eric Singleton Bird Sanctuary on Sunday 21 June for a morning of learning, discovery and connection with our local environment.
As part of the Wonderful Bayswater Wetlands project, the Community Discovery Day gave people of all ages the chance to explore the rich biodiversity of our local wetlands. Visitors enjoyed interactive displays, animal encounters and conversations with environmental groups. These activities helped attendees learn more about the plants, animals and micro-organisms that support these important ecosystems.
Events like this showcase the natural beauty of Bayswater and highlight why it is such a wonderful place to live. They also encourage the community to value and protect our local environment for future generations.
The next Community Discovery Morning takes place at Baigup Wetlands from 9am to 12pm on Sunday 16 August. The event is free and no registration is required.
Angela Rossen leads The Wonderful Bayswater Wetlands project with support from the WA Government, the City of Bayswater and Enviro House.
